Well of course i think my pomeranian mix "SPUD" is the smartest. But I am biased. So I will give you the unbiased point of view. The question becomes how do you measure a dogs intelligence. Is it even possible to quantify their intelligence? This depends on what criteria you are using. We all know dogs are can be trained to be very obedient and respond to numerous commands. They tend to be very loyal and are considered to be mans best friend. But which breed has the best memory and the best problem solving skills? Do all breeds share the same intelligence? Are wolves and coyotes smarter than their domestic cousins?

Using the dogs natural intelligence you can stop their bad behavior. Teach your dog to listen and be more obedient. Stop your dog from being so aggressive. Keep him from pulling on the lease when you go for walks. Stop the uncontrollable barking and get some peace and quiet. Keep him from chewing on things he shouldn't be.
